Traditional Uses and Anticancer Potential of the Combretum Genus: A Literature Review

Background: Cancer incidence is increasing annually in all countries. So, it nowadays a great burden for the different nations of world. Research new therapeutics becoming an urgent need, particularly intractable and chemoresistant cancer cases. The solutions can still be found by investigating natural products which are recognized as promising sources bioactive compounds with potential discovery preventive therapeutic anticancer agents.
 Methodology: present work used databases such Pubmed, Science Direct Google scholar to investigate ethnobotanical uses some Combretum species literature. It also allowed us summarize pharmacological studies on species.
 Results: This review gathers available traditional cytotoxicity Special focus given highlighting isolated molecules. These molecules potent cytotoxic effect various cell lines may contribute improving health people suffering from diseases.
 Conclusion: widely folk medicine treatment several pathologies including cancers. study fundamental importance source research compounds.
